The Awareness Centre is one of the largest clinical institutes in London and we provide counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, psychosexual and relationship therapy and psychiatry. We work with individuals, couples, families, children and groups. Our philosophy offers an holistic overview of many different approaches to therapy supporting the diverse community of London.
TAC provides NHS counselling and psychotherapy services to GP surgeries in Lambeth, working in partnership with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). We also offer a Free, Low Cost and private counselling service at The Awareness Centre and we are a private health care provider.
Our Complementary therapists offer a range of different treatments including Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medication, Homeopathy, Massage, Meditation, Reflexology and Reiki. We also offer a wide range of Complementary Therapy Courses.
Michaela McCarthy is the Managing Director of The Awareness Centre. She is a qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, Addictions Specialist, Trainer and Clinical Supervisor.
TAC has a team of experienced practitioners who provide clinical supervision. Our supervisors have trained in many different approaches of counselling, psychotherapy, psychology and psychosexual and relationship therapy.
The clinical psychiatry service at TAC is provided by the Sloane Court Clinic in Chelsea. Dr Howells and his team of psychiatrists and clinical psychologists work with a range of issues including depression, panic disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and adult ADHD. Some of the psychologists work at TAC.
The Awareness Centre’s Musculoskeletal Clinic combines a multidisciplinary approach to many chronic muscular and joint disorders. We offer Chartered Physiotherapy and Osteopathy.
The Awareness Centre offers a full CPD Seminar Programme and a wide range of training and workshops for therapists wanting to develop their expertise and skills in their clinical practice.
TAC works in partnership with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) and Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) in Lambeth and offers short and long term clinical placements.
